-Drop Inn-

                                                           The Drop Inn Center is a non-profit agency serving homeless individuals in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their stated mission is to be a “community of residents, staff and volunteers working together to provide basic human services for men & women experiencing homelessness with a primary commitment to shelter.”

                                                            The Drop Inn Center began in the early 1970s. The shelter’s founder, Buddy Gray, took people off the street into his own apartment. The shelter formalized and began as an evening shelter for the homeless in Cincinnati in 1973. It occupied a series of storefronts in Over-the-Rhine, first at 1713 Vine St. and later at 1324 Main Street. In 1976, city politics and a lack of funding threatened the shelter with closure on the weekends. A group of volunteers responded to this by committing to keep the shelter open seven days a week; they soon incorporated as an organization called the Shelter-house Volunteer Group.

                                                              As time passed and the shelter grew, the storefront on Main St. became increasingly inadequate. On January 13, 1978 volunteers associated with the Drop Inn Center moved illegally to the former Teamster Hall at 217 W. 12th Street. This move was seen by some as controversial. In the 1980s the Teamsters hall became so crowded that large iron bunks had to be installed. In 1990 a new wing was built on to the shelter to house 200 more residents, and a Drug Treatment Program for men.

                                                               Through the 1990s, the Drop Inn Center continued to add space and programs for the homeless. The women’s side of shelter was completely renovated in 1994, and in 1998 a recovery program for women, the Full Circle Program, began. In 1996, when Recovery Hotel opened as a transitional housing facility for men in recovery the Drop Inn Center began providing supportive services there. This direction was furthered by the development of the 12th & Elm Transitional Housing Project, eventually relocated in 2008 to make room for a new public arts high school.

                                                                A new comprehensive intake system began in 2004 which allowed the Drop Inn Center to track its residents more effectively. The Drop Inn Center added a Case Management Program targeted to the long term homeless as well as a housing subsidy program called Shelter Plus Care. In 2009 the Center reorganized to add improvements to the Emergency Shelter, including the creation of a Step-Up Dorm for Men.

The Arjun (Sanskrit: अर्जुन) is a third generation main battle tank developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), for the Indian Army. The tank is named for Arjun, a character in the Indian epic, Mahabharata.

The Arjun features a 120 mm main rifled gun with indigenously developed APFSDS ammunition, one 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, and a 12.7 mm machine gun. It is powered by a single MTU multi-fuel diesel engine rated at 1,400 hp, and can achieve a maximum speed of 70 km/h (43 mph) and a cross-country speed of 40 km/h (25 mph). It has a four-man crew: commander, gunner, loader and driver. Automatic fire detection and suppression, and NBC protection systems are included. All-round anti-tank warhead protection by the newly developed Kanchan armour is claimed to be much higher than available in comparable third generation tanks

                         Richard Phillips Feynman was an American theoretical physicist known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of quantum electrodynamics, and the physics of the superfluidity of supercooled liquid helium, as well as in particle physics.

                                      In high school, his IQ was determined to be 125—high, but “merely respectable” according to biographer James Gleick.In 1933, when he turned 15, he taught himself trigonometry, advanced algebra, infinite series, analytic geometry, and both differential and integral calculus.[15] Before entering college, he was experimenting with and re-creating mathematical topics such as the half-derivative using his own notation. In high school he was developing the mathematical intuition behind his Taylor series of mathematical operators.
                                     His habit of direct characterization sometimes rattled more conventional thinkers; for example, one of his questions, when learning feline anatomy, was “Do you have a map of the cat”. Ltaer he applied to Columbia University but was not accepted.[9] Instead, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1939 and in the same year was named a Putnam Fellow.

                                    He immersed himself in work on the project, and was present at the Trinity bomb test. Feynman claimed to be the only person to see the explosion without the very dark glasses or welder’s lenses provided, reasoning that it was safe to look through a truck windshield, as it would screen out the harmful ultraviolet radiation.

                            Feynman’s other work at Los Alamos included calculating neutron equations for the Los Alamos “Water Boiler”, a small nuclear reactor, to measure how close an assembly of fissile material was to criticality. On completing this work he was transferred to the Oak Ridge facility, where he aided engineers in devising safety procedures for material storage so that criticality accidents,feynman held an appointment at the University of Wisconsin–Madison as an assistant professor of physics. The appointment was spent on leave for his involvement in the Manhattan project. In 1945, he received a letter from Dean Mark Ingraham of the College of Letters and Science requesting his return to UW to teach in the coming academic year. His appointment was not extended when he did not commit to return.

                                     While researching for his Ph.D., Feynman married his first wife, Arline Greenbaum. She was diagnosed with tuberculosis, but she and Feynman were careful, and he never contracted it. She died of the disease in 1945. In 1946, Feynman wrote a letter to her, but kept it sealed for the rest of his life.[45] This portion of Feynman’s life was portrayed in the 1996 film Infinity, which featured Feynman’s daughter, Michelle, in a cameo role.
He married a second time in June 1952, to Mary Louise Bell of Neodesha, Kansas; this marriage was brief and unsuccessful:

                             The transmission of speech by radio has a long and varied history going back to Reginald Fessenden’s invention and shore-to-ship demonstration of radio telephony.The development of mobile telephony began in 1918 with tests of wireless telephony on military trains between Berlin and Zossen.In 1926 the artist Karl Arnold created a visionary cartoon about the use of mobile phones in the street, in the picture “wireless telephony”, published in the German satirical magazine Simplicissimus .

                                     The Second World War made military use of radio telephony links. Early devices were bulky and consumed high power and the network supported only a few simultaneous conversations., In modern cellular networks allow automatic and pervasive use of mobile phones for voice and data communications.The advances in mobile telephony can be traced in successive generations from the early “0G” services like MTS and its successor Improved Mobile Telephone Service.,

                                     The First mobile Motorola was the first company to produce a handheld mobile phone. On 3 April 1973 Martin Cooper, a Motorola engineer and executive, made the first mobile telephone call from handheld subscriber equipment in front of reporters, placing a call to Dr. Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs,it has an weighed 1.1 kg and measured 23 cm long, 13 cm deep and 4.45 cm wide. The prototype offered a talk time of just 30 minutes and took 10 hours to re-charge
Later there was Radio Common Carrier or RCC was a service introduced in the 1960s by independent telephone companies to compete against AT&T’s IMTS. RCC systems used paired UHF 454/459 MHz and VHF 152/158 MHz frequencies near those used by IMTS. RCC based services were provided until the 1980s when cellular AMPS systems made RCC equipment obsolete.
